Financial Analysis Manager

You might be looking to do something more meaningful and fulfilling. Or, you could be seeking a role that comes with great benefits and where you can put your financial and analytical skills to use in changing the country for the better. Either way this role as Financial Analysis Manager could be just what you are looking for – it is critical in ensuring the business plans effectively and makes the best use of its resources.

About Shelter

A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change — with individuals, in communities, across society – and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.

About the team

This role sits within the Financial Planning and Analysis team (FP&A). We support the charity through financial reporting, analysis, and expert advice, and enable collaboration to support managers in making effective business decisions.

About this role

The Financial Analysis Manager is a key role in ensuring that Shelter has the reporting and insight it needs to make effective financial decisions.  You will lead a team of professionals to ensure timely and accurate reporting is available to internal budget holders and external funders and stakeholders, maintaining transparency and fostering trust in Shelter’s financial management.

The role works with the rest of Finance and FP&A to effectively manage the financial planning cycle from initial budget setting, through forecasting and scenario planning, to regular reporting and analysis.  You will seek to promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team, engaging with and leading projects to help make FP&A a key business partner and strategic resource to the rest of the charity.

About you

A qualified accountant (CCAB, CIMA or overseas equivalent), you will be a proactive, creative and collaborative individual with excellent technical skills, familiarity working with complex financial information, a client and customer-focused approach, and proven experience of producing reports to internal and external stakeholders. You will be a natural leader and communicator with first-class time management, prioritisation and IT skills.  Experience or awareness of accounting and reporting packages is desirable but not essential (Unit 4 Business World/Agresso ). A flexible, results-driven and performance-focused approach to your work is vital.

Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
