Senior Social Workers - City Wide Vacancies

Andrew Christie, chair of Birmingham Children’s Trust, said: “The Trust was established to improve how children’s social care services are delivered in Birmingham.  For many families, this starts with our response at the front door of our services.

“It is extremely encouraging to receive positive feedback from Ofsted following their latest focused visit, and this tells us that our progress is on track.

Ofsted recognised that leaders know the service and that they understand what further improvements are required."

We are looking for social work practitioners, who have completed their ASYE, to join our teams and drive through and embed; our improvements for the Children, young people and their families across the City.

Why Do We do this

Our vision is to put children and young people at the heart of everything we do.  We have a clear singe focus: to deliver excellent social work and family support for the city’s most vulnerable children, young people and families.

We have a stable, dedicated and committed workforce; with below average levels of agency staff and low staff turnover.

During Ofsted’s visit early 2020 they were quoted as saying “All staff spoken to are positive about working for the Trust…”

“Staff report receiving consistently good support from all tiers of highly visible leaders and managers…”

We are driving innovation across the region leading on and implementing a local Family Drugs & Alcohol Court.  Expanding our family group conference service.  Forming partnerships with national research with the ‘What Works Centre’ as well as investing in partnership-based research.  We have also acquired the copywrite to deliver the ground-breaking therapeutic programme ‘Breaking the Cycle’.

There has never been a better time to join the Birmingham Children’s Trust and develop your career.

Our Practice Model

We are committed to child-centered practice.  We are focused on keeping children safe and meeting their needs whilst involving parents, or carers, and wider family members at every stage.  Our involvement should always be collaborative and reflect the expertise and resources of families and local community networks.

Learning & Development

As a learning organisation and our Academy offers a learning programme appropriate to your role.

We have introduced a Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) module-based programme to prepare our staff for the National Accreditation Assessment System (NAAS).  You’ll have access to Research in Practice and Community Care Inform; with a Practice Hub which is dedicated to supporting staff in their learning and development through clear and supported career progression.

Our offer includes competitive rewards, a generous annual leave package; and our recently launched a Salary Sacrifice Car Leasing Scheme; to name a few.
