Environmental Services, Licensing and Community Safety

Full time – 37 hours per week, Permanent Contract

Salary: £20,281 up to £22,596 per annum + £2,907 per annum car allowance

Starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience

An opportunity has arisen to work across the beautiful countryside of Rother and Wealden, including the towns of Bexhill, Crowborough, Hailsham and Rye; working with the community, our partners in the police, housing services and social landlords.

You will be expected to provide a response to anti-social behaviour, environmental pollution incidents and public health issues.

Previous experience in enforcement activity is not essential if you have the aptitude to work well with the public and have the ability and willingness to develop an enforcement role; including investigating concerns, obtaining evidence, issuing advice and formal warnings, serving legal notices and on occasion issuing fixed penalty notices.

The post holder would be expected to work alone, sometimes outside office hours. We will be encouraging the successful applicant to develop their skills and abilities within the role.  Positive consideration will be given to those that want to undertake a course of relevant professional training, this includes those that are interested in studying for an apprenticeship.
