Specialist, Communications Engagement & Marketing

We are looking for applicants keen to develop their careers in the exciting area of communications and engagement. The team is responsible for ensuring we reach everybody in the borough with our messages, that we have a genuine two-way dialogue with residents and that we present ourselves in the most open, honest and positive way possible. We are looking for people with new, innovative ideas on how to communicate the great things we do and how to engage beyond the 'usual suspects'. 
Communications, Engagement and Marketing Team 
The Communications and Engagement (CEM) Team is looking for people with new, innovative ideas on how to communicate the great things we do and how to engage beyond the ‘usual suspects’ in order to get to the harder to reach groups. 
You will work across the organisation with senior officers and members on all aspects of the council’s work; from making sure our successes are celebrated to giving difficult messages in the right way. 
Specialist L1 Communications, Marketing and Engagement (Full Time) Grade 6 
You will be responsible for delivering activities in support of Communications and Engagement strategies, campaigns and plans. This will include communicating via social media, copy writing (for WBC publications and news releases), running engagement events and consultations and responding to media enquiries. 
You will have: 
• Good written and verbal communication skills 
• Good organisational skills and time-management to meet deadlines and support delivery of successful events 
• The ability to develop and deliver innovative ways to engage with residents via a range of methods including social media 
• The ability to create short videos for social media is desirable 
Interviews will be held on 11 and 12 August 2020. These dates are subject to confirmation.
