Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a highly skilled HLTA to join and complement our wonderfully supportive and highly skilled teaching team   – someone:


  • Who MUST be a genuine team player and have the ability to get on with everyone and anyone across the whole school
  • with the ability and skill to teach whole classes across a variety of year groups for sessions to cover such things as: PPA, Subject leadership release, CPD training sessions, monitoring, mentoring, NQT release etc
  • able to step in at short notice when teachers are absent
  • who is able to generate high levels of respect and impart authority naturally; able to maintain the highest standards and expectations with regard to pupil work ethic and learning behaviours – including marking work undertaken by them
  • who has outstanding class and behaviour management and has the highest standards and expectations with regard to this
  • who is able to work closely and harmoniously with others performing similar roles
  • who is adaptable and flexible and able to deliver best practice to all pupils
  • support with lunchtime and afterschool duties as required
  • who has a desire and ambition to help us move the school forward and impact on pupil outcomes – to make a difference
  • who believes in the aims, ethos and vision of the school
  • who can give teachers the peace of mind that outcomes will be delivered and achieved to a high standard if the teacher is not there.
  • who has the ability to undertake specific intervention across the school and impact on standards
  • who is able to work with small groups when required and support individuals with their learning needs
  • who is able to work with larger groups of children to provide an impactful learning environment
  • who can plan, mark and assess work to a high standard
  • who can work alongside teachers and other members of the Academy to provide a high level of education
