To do our best for Camden, we need you.

Join our new Property Management Services.

Apply now.

Something exciting is happening in Camden. We’re launching a new Property Management Service that’s better for our borough. To take on an agenda that’s bursting with varied and interesting projects, we’ve restructured our team and created a number of senior roles. Join a Council that cares about its people – and be part of something new.

The role

A successful Programme Manager, you’ll be part of our M&E Capital Works Team, which handles a variety of capital and asset management programmes, from complex, long-term, multi-million pound construction investment programmes, to small projects of less than £1m each. Most projects will relate to Council homes, schools, corporate buildings and commercial premises. Leading a skilled project management team, you’ll help us take pioneering action to make buildings greener (as well as safer) right across our borough.

With all kinds of projects, every day is different. Then there’s the satisfaction of reducing carbon emissions and creating safe, secure properties. Day to day, you could be implementing fire safety measures, installing better lifts or energy efficient boilers. Whatever the project, you’ll need to be practical, proactive and hands-on. With this approach, you’ll co-ordinate capital works, manage their inter-dependencies and allocate resources. We’ll also expect you to ensure quality assurance and integrity across the whole works programme.

Some posts at Camden are politically restricted, which means individuals holding these posts cannot have active political role. For a list of all politically restricted roles at Camden click here.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced expert with technical expertise. You should have a background in M&E Engineering, plus a track record in your field. Good with people, you shine in stakeholder management and community consultations. Plus, you can manage staff and consultants, handle project finances and mastermind programme delivery. A Prince 2 qualification would be ideal, but we’re more interested in technical knowledge and awareness of climate challenges. If you can bring both, you could be the perfect fit for Camden.

About Camden

Modern, award-winning offices; career development; flexible working hours: our team enjoys all the above, as well as discounted access to on-site leisure facilities, including a swimming pool. Join us and you’ll be free to learn and excel as part of a diverse, inclusive organisation that values equality and social justice.

Our new service launches soon. Be part of something special.
