Trustee: HR, Quality, Audit/HR and Children and Young People

At a time of expansion RESPONSE is seeking new trustees who have a passion for mental health services and enhancing the lives of vulnerable people. For over 50 years, RESPONSE has been pioneering services that enable people with mental health problems and complex needs to live their lives to the full.  We have grown significantly in the last five years and now support in excess of 400 people of all ages on their journey to recovery and wellbeing over West Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire (BOB).

RESPONSE is looking for trustees with experience in a number of areas including Human Resources, Quality and Performance Management and work with Vulnerable Young People. The Trustees will contribute to, and ensure the effective delivery of the emerging strategy. A genuine interest and commitment to the organisation's Mission, Values and Strategic Goals is essential as well as knowledge or a willingness to develop an understanding of compliance, risk management and control of processes.

As a large charity with energy and ambition, we need Trustees who are able to invest a suitable amount of time, on a flexible basis, each month. As a guide to the kind of time commitment required, the Trustees could be investing around 6 hours a month to RESPONSE (in addition to the formal board meetings, which take place bi-monthly).

With a substantial housing portfolio, nearly 250 staff, robust NHS contracts and turnover nearing £10m we’re now well-placed to deliver future growth and even more vital life-changing services to both young people and adults. We have an exceptional reputation, a thriving organisation, powerful partnerships and the ambition to do more. Response aims to diversify their portfolio and open new services in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire alongside still developing new services in Oxfordshire.

Now, more than ever, our society needs to be providing for those who face mental health problems and associated disadvantages. At RESPONSE, we are driven to be at the forefront of that provision, constantly improving, innovating and supporting as many people as possible. If you share our passion and beliefs, we’d love to hear from you.
