Senior Development Management Officer

Lincolnshire County Council has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Senior Development Management Officer to join our Growth - Development Management Team.

This role will form part of dynamic team undertaking business critical activities within challenging timescales whilst also offering the post holder the ability to gain further skills and experience and increase personal competencies.

Integral to the role will be the provision of pre-application advice to developers on highways and surface water drainage issues, along with providing timely responses to planning consultations. You will liaise with and commission services from other LCC departments, consultants and external bodies. Supervision of S38 (Highways Act 1980), S106 (Town and Country Planning Act 1990) & S278 (Highways Act 1980) assessment and checks will be an on-going requirement, along with providing advice on SuDS submissions. The post holder will regularly have to represent the views of the Council in discussion with property developers, consultants, contractors etc. These discussions may be complex and contentious and may require difficult negotiations.

Effective communication skills are essential to be able to provide careful and considered responses.

Appropriate qualifications are required along with relevant experience of highway and flood risk development services. A professional qualification Eng Tech or IEng is desirable but not essential.
