Here in our Youth Support Service, we are committed to helping young people achieve their potential – and you can play your part. This is your chance to ensure young people get the futures they deserve.
You will provide careers advice and guidance to a caseload of young people aged 16 to 18, ensuring robust transition plans are in place. Your focus will be on increasing participation in further education, employment and training, and you’ll work closely with the training providers, colleges and other youth support agencies. Committed to making a difference, you will offer intensive support to those at risk of disengagement and direct young people to a range of specialist agencies in line with their needs and aspirations. Providing robust reports and keeping accurate records will be a key aspect of the role.
Proactive and approachable, you will be a qualified Personal Adviser and have experience of working with vulnerable and disaffected young people in an IAG (information, advice and guidance) role. You will be qualified to at least NVQ4 in learning, development and support services/IAG or hold the Diploma in Career Guidance and Development. Confident working on your own initiative, you will have sound advocacy and negotiation skills. Above all, you will have a genuine interest in working closely with young people to raise their aspirations and improve their lives.
