Our culture and values

We like our staff to be proactive and innovative. Being customer focused and willing to maximise your potential at work are expected. We all work together to achieve the very best for our residents which sometimes means getting involved in projects and trying new tasks outside of your day to day job role. We love our staff to suggest new ideas and to have enthusiasm to try out new experiences.

The job role

This role currently involves some onsite working and some home working. Your contractual workbase will be Rochford. The successful applicant will be provided with a laptop but must have the ability to work at home including access to reliable broadband

We are seeking to recruit a detail focussed, organised and enthusiastic individual to work within our small HR team who provide a generalist HR function to 170 staff. This post is for an initial period of 12 months with the possibility of extension.

The role of HR Support Assistant has been created to fulfil two key requirements. Firstly, to provide essential day to day support to the team. Key tasks will include use of the HR system including payroll inputting, running reports, amending data. You will produce routine HR correspondence and maintain all admin systems in a proactive and thorough way. Secondly, you will provide admin support to the Council’s Staff Development Programme. This will include liaising with training providers, booking training courses, managing delegates, producing correspondence and maintaining all records relating the training across the Authority.

This role is suited to a person who works well on their own initiative, has excellent attention to detail, is numerate, literate and is keen to continually improve the systems they work with. You will need to be proficient in use of Microsoft products including Word and Excel. Experience in an HR role is desirable and in the event of a high number of applicants desirable criteria may be used to shortlist candidates. If applicants numbers exceed 50 the vacancy posting will close early and initial shortlisting will take place.
