Teaching Assistant


Frodsham Weaver Vale Primary School are looking to recruit a Reception Classroom Teaching Assistant who has recent and relevant experience of working with children within the EYFS. The ideal candidate will be pro-active, have high expectations and the ability to work flexibly.

You will be working under the direct supervision of the EYFS lead and Reception class teacher. The role will include supporting and developing focussed learning activities tailored to the needs of the Reception class. You will also contribute to the planning and the sourcing and making of resources to facilitate effective teaching and learning within the classroom.

You will be required to supervise the activities of the individual, as well as groups of pupils both in the classroom. This will include transition times during the day around school, to ensure their safety and facilitate their physical, social and emotional development in accordance with the school's behaviour policy.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills. They will need specific experience of supporting children with speech and language difficulties and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  Knowledge of the EYFS framework and supporting early reading and phonics is highly desirable.
