Job introduction

We are looking for a customer service focused person to join our team.  Our team objective is to tackle congestion and keep traffic moving in our City, whilst providing access and delivering excellent customer service.  We remotely control and monitor council Car Parks and provide fault monitoring for on and off-street parking equipment.

About the role

The Traffic Control Centre is operational 24 hours a day 7 days a week so you will need to be flexible and able to work a shift pattern. In addition you will provide a communications ‘hub’ for the Transport Operations Team and are the first point of contact with neighbouring authorities traffic control centres, the Police, the local transport news media and other partners. Therefore excellent communications skills are essential to the post. We provide real-time traffic management, as well as monitoring CCTV to monitor the road networks and security at our main sites.

Full time – 37 hours per week

Working pattern is on a rota basis, Monday to Sunday 7am to 7pm. This role attracts weekend enhanced payments.

This role is fixed term for 12 months.

Interviews will take place week commencing 5th Oct. Please note there will be a short word based test during the interview stage.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
