Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield and the surrounding areas offer a rich mix of culture, nature and leisure. Add to this, great schools and housing and you really do have everything you could want. The regeneration that has taken place and continues to take place, across the borough, has brought new energy and character.

Following a restructure in the Legal Services Team, we are looking to recruit a Paralegal to support the work of the busy Legal team.

The Council and Land Registry are working together to secure voluntary registration of the Council’s unregistered land. This is a great opportunity to work on a project to develop your skills and experience whilst working alongside colleagues providing a broad range of legal services to our community.

You must be qualified to graduate level with a minimum of a lower 2nd class of degree.  A recognised legal qualification such as an LLB or equivalent - which would be recognised by the Law Society - would be desirable.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and have excellent IT skills particularly around Microsoft Office. You will need to be organised and have experience of managing conflicting demands.

You must be able to prioritise your work to meet deadlines.

The ability to be flexible in your approach in the registration process and preparedness to work with the Land Registry to achieve the best outcome possible.

You should enjoy working as part of a team and have the ability to respond positively to change.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and other employees and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.

Closing date for application is 7 October 2020.

Assessments will be held on 16th and 19th October 2020.

Interviews will be held on 26 October 2020.
