Commercial Services Team Leader

This is a newly created role and an exciting opportunity to come and work for the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead in a challenging and busy Commercial Services team. The team undertake food hygiene inspections and investigate health and safety referrals, animal licensing, private water supplies and infectious diseases. The role is an opportunity to lead, motivate and supervise the Commercial Services team within the Environmental Health service providing technical guidance, support and expertise to the officers.

You will be the designated Food Lead and represent the Borough at key stakeholder meetings and partnerships such as the Berkshire and Oxfordshire Food Safety Liaison Group.

The post holder will be responsible for introducing a robust enforcement regime and raising the profile of the team.

The successful candidate will be key in responding and shaping the emerging work streams in response to the global pandemic of Covid 19. You will have responsibility for outbreak management in a number of high-risk settings and investigating and responding to confirmed cases of Covid 19 within the Borough. Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of organisation skills will be required to manage a diverse workload. Confidence to take decisions within agreed parameters will be essential.

You will possess a degree (or an equivalent qualification), in an environmental health or food safety discipline and have proven experience within the fields of Commercial Services and managing a team.

A full driving licence and use of a car is essential.
