Recycling Supervisor

Job Title: Recycling Supervisor

Salary Range: £20,903 pa progressing to £23,080 pa
Hours: 37 hours – Full Time
Contract: Permanent

Due to an increased demand in activity the Hertfordshire Equipment Service (HES), now require a recycling supervisor to oversee and coordinate the work of the recycling team.  HES loan out Health and Social Care equipment to the residents of Hertfordshire to enable them to remain living independently in their own homes for as long as possible and the recycling team is responsible for the cleaning of all returned healthcare equipment prior to its re-use or decommissioning.

The Recycling Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the level of cleaning and segregation meets the requirements of the Medicines & Healthcare Regulatory Agency & Health & Safety Executive as well as other local Governing bodies such as NHS Infection Control (CCG).  As recycling supervisor, you will be responsible for organising the workloads fairly and evenly across the team ensuring daily targets are met and that all infection control procedures and standards are adhered to.

You will ensure team members are trained in all recycling functions and mentor new starters into the department. You will have responsibility for ensuring all materials and sundries are ordered and arrange service and repairs of all cleaning equipment and machinery.

As recycling supervisor, you will ensure all policies and procedures are met including robust record keeping ensuring traceability and audit trail is maintained.

Skills & Experience

  • We are looking for someone with experience of working within a recycling operation with an understanding of the relevant standards set out by MHRA, HSE, NHS infection control & other regulators.
  • The candidate should have meticulous attention to detail to ensure all items passing through the recycling operation meet the expected high standards.
  • They will need to be flexible and adaptable ready to change priorities quickly.
  • The right person will have good communication skills and be highly organised.
