Head of Service - Safeguarding

Birmingham Children’s Trust is going from strength to strength. We are the largest provider of family support and social care services for children, young people and families in the country. Our goal is to become a centre of excellence in both social care and family support. Our caseloads are some of the lowest in the country and we have successfully reduced our reliance on agency social workers. The successful candidate will be joining a stable and forward thinking leadership team.

The Safeguarding service is responsible for the planning for children in need, children who are subject to child protection plans and for completing pre-proceedings work as we prepare to enter court. We are looking for a proven social work leader to join our leadership team in the South of the City. We have learned a great deal during the pandemic and we are reviewing the future of social work delivery in this context. The successful candidate will play a role in planning our future delivery and support to the children and families of Birmingham.

The challenges are big, but the opportunities are great! In return we offer up to 34 days annual leave, a bespoke leadership programme, a final salary pension and a range of employee benefits which we will be developing further.
