North Somerset Council has an ambitious and wide-ranging programme of urban regeneration and transport improvement schemes from traffic calming to multi-million pound new roads, and from EV charging infrastructure to developing “mini-Holland” schemes to make our streets more friendly. To support these aspirations the council’s highway design teams, seek a Principal Engineer to lead a small project team in delivering the Councils priorities.

The successful post holder, reporting to the team manager, will design and implement their own highway improvement schemes and work with other team members to deliver our larger projects.  They will also give day to day support and guidance to less experienced team members.
