Senior Practitioner, North Fostering Support Team

Birmingham Childrens Trust Fostering Agency has a National and Regional presence and is the biggest children’s provider in Europe.

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Practitioner to support the Team Manager in driving forward the fostering agency plans and priorities within one of the fostering support teams.  We are looking for candidates who are dynamic and passionate, want an opportunity for a fresh challenge in supporting the agency to provide high quality fostering placements for our Children and Young People In Care.  You will be working in a part of the Fostering Service, which plays a key role in the support and services for foster carers and children, and would require various skills and experience to engage and communicate with children and carers and have an understanding of safeguarding, support and regulatory requirements of the fostering agency.

For this role you would need to be a professionally qualified social worker, registered with SW England who have demonstrable post qualification experience of working with children and young people, safeguarding and fostering. The role and duties also includes managing a small case load; as well as providing technical and professional expertise, participating in out of hours and duty, mentoring and quality assurance to less experienced colleagues.  You will also support the Team Manager in the day-to-day running of the team.
