This is a great opportunity to join the Safeguarding team as a Support Worker. In this role you would be the first point of contact for all Safeguarding Adults queries, Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivations of Liberty (DoLS) referrals. This includes reports of abuse and neglect of people with care and support needs.
As a Safeguarding Support Worker you will provide advice and guidance on the safeguarding helpline for safeguarding adults concerns. You will review safeguarding reports and advise on course of action and escalate to a manager where appropriate. You will work closely with senior support workers. You will support the safeguarding lead officers (manager) in making decisions, screening for enquiries, information gathering and recording.
In the role you will attend and take minutes of safeguarding meetings, ensuring that all statements and actions are recorded. Produce an approved typed set of minutes and distribute to all attendees. The role also required you to undertake outreach and awareness raising work on safeguarding adults. This will be alongside staff working in the health, social care and criminal justice field and at public events.
To apply for this position you’ll need a good standard of education in literacy and numeracy. You’ll also need some experience of multiagency working and knowledge of how Adult Social Care fits with the work of other agencies.
