Youth Support Worker

Are you a good listener, an excellent coach or someone who works well with young people? Do you have hobbies and interests that could help inspire or engage others? We are looking for individuals with a variety of skills to join our diverse team of Youth Workers. We welcome applications from people who have lived experience of some of the challenges facing young people.

 

Medway Youth Service is recruiting for street-based youth workers for the Gillingham and Chatham areas. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people, with good communications skills who are interested in making a positive difference to young people’s lives. The street-based youth workers engage with young people aged 8-19 in parks, shopping areas, and other places where they meet. The work aims to support young people to take part in positive activities, learn new skills and develop projects that meet their needs and interests.

 

Projects will run 3 hours a day after school. Starting times will range between 3-4pm (dependent on programing and availability), Monday to Friday from September 2020 – June 2021. We are recruiting for people to work 3-12 hours a week (1-4 sessions.)
