More Information

Rough Sleeper Outreach Worker

It is a very exciting time to join the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead with our service going through many changes and enhancements including being awarded 490k from MHCLG to deliver a comprehensive Rough Sleeper Pathway.

We are focused on continuing to improve our housing services, including implementing an on-line customer focused housing register, a duty telephone rota for homeless households and we are developing a private rented sector offer.

This is a great opportunity to join an improving Housing Service working to deliver high quality, innovative, people-focused and value for money services. The service covers housing options, homelessness, housing policy, rough sleeper services, housing register, allocations and housing enabling. We are also just starting to provide some services from the offices but currently predominantly working from home and expect this to continue for at least the rest of this year.

You will be responsible for carrying out thorough assessments through the pathway, identifying priorities and ongoing needs, including establishing local connections and reconnection needs. You will provide support and encourage service users in building links with support organisations such as accommodation providers, social services, drug and alcohol teams.

Contributing to the development of the rough sleeper programme, local procedures and future planning of services related to interventions to reduce rough sleeping, you will effectively manage the individuals’ transition from our programme in a manner that supports their long-term stability.
