Information Governance Co-ordinator

Information Governance Co-ordinator

Salary £26,615 - £32,152  (dependent on experience)

Fulltime (36 hours)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Information Governance Team at Spelthorne Borough Council, to assist the Data Protection Officer in securing the Council’s compliance with its statutory obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI), Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR), and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA).

As an Information Governance Coordinator, you will handle complex casework and lead on specific projects to ensure continuous improvement in the Council’s approach to Information Governance and records management. You’ll report to the Data Protection Officer, and in their absence, you will be the main point of contact for practical information governance advice.

You will have excellent communication skills, have good organisational skills, and possess excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. As you’ll be supporting colleagues to comply with information governance, you’ll have detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation. You’ll be able to translate information governance regulation and legislation into Plain English, ensuring that your advice is practical, employing a ‘can do’ attitude.

Given the constantly evolving field of information governance you’ll need to have strong commitment to continuous training and personal development. Working within minimal supervision, you’ll be able to work to deadlines and deliver work to a high standard.

As a member of the wider Commissioning & Transformation Group, you’ll be an ambassador for continuous improvement, and a champion of the rights of data subjects.

If this sounds like the job for you, we look forward to hearing from you.

Closing date:  4 November 2020 (Noon)

Interview:       12 November 2020
