We have an exciting opportunity for a surveyor or project manager with a technical background to join us in the delivery of our exciting and high-profile New Homes for Neighbourhoods programme.  This focus of this role will on undertaking Clerk of Works inspections on our new build projects and providing technical support to the wider team.

About the role

Brighton & Hove is a city with an acute ‘housing crisis’, with over 9,000 households on the housing register and a serious shortage of affordable homes.  Part of the Council’s response to the housing crisis has been to develop an innovative ‘New Homes for Neighbourhoods’ programme, with an ambition to build at least 500 new council homes. The programme has been successful and has completed 13 new build projects (totalling 239 homes) with more onsite, in planning, or at other stages in the programme pipeline. a

We are looking for a highly motivated person with a surveyor/technical background and experience of undertaking Clerk of Works type inspections to join our dynamic team.  You will play a key role in ensuring the homes we build are to a high quality and developing our technical standards. This will include undertaking regular inspections as project progress and providing reports to the project team.  You will also be responsible for managing some projects from inception to completion and will work with colleagues across the council, our partners and a range of key stakeholders in the city.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
