Floating Resettlement and Support Officer - Day and Nights

Elizabeth Fry Charity operates an Approved Premises for women in Reading. The Approved Premises accommodates 24 women on licence, bail and community sentences. We work closely with the partner agencies to manage risk, protect the public and support women to make positive changes to their lives.

Floating Resettlement and Support Officer (Days and Nights)

Average of 35.5 hours per week (177.5 hours over five weeks) £21,388.05 - £26,084.42 (Pay Spine Points 12-18).

25 days annual leave per annum (pro rata), plus bank holidays

Are you interested in working with women offenders, many of whom have substance misuse and other complex issues? Are you committed to teamwork? Are you able to demonstrate a flexible and creative approach to enable and assist offenders to live in the community leading law abiding lives?

The post involves working an average of 35.5 hours a week on a rota basis, which includes weekend shifts and occasional bank holidays. The shifts are arranged on a monthly basis and are a combination of day and night shifts. Ideally you should have experience of working within the Criminal Justice System and understand the importance of leading by example, encouragement and enthusiasm when working with this client group.

In addition you will have a good understanding of the levels of discrimination that women in the Criminal Justice System experience. However, individuals who are able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues surrounding women and offending and show a willingness to learn would also be considered.

We are seeking self motivated and committed individuals to support our residents and assist the running of the Approved Premises. Excellent communications skills, administrative skills and team work skills are a must. You will receive regular supervision and appropriate training for your particular needs.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful candidates will be subject to an check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
