Property Assets Officer

West Berkshire Council is seeking an experienced asset management professional to work in our Property Services team on a part time, fixed term basis, to project manage and carry out detailed scrutiny of the councils operational estate, through the formation of Operational Services Asset Management Plans, analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of the estate (including financial), and conducting ‘asset challenges’ for individual assets. The role will also assist the Property Services Manager in developing the transition of the council’s estate from a ‘devolved’ structure to a ‘Corporate Landlord’ structure. 

Reporting to the Property Services Manager, you will be required to work on your own initiative, including detailed consultation with operational teams and managers.  You will also be a flexible and good team member who can provide property advice and up to date property data to WBC colleagues. 

We are looking for a property professional, ideally an RICS qualified surveyor with a strong background in strategic asset management/planning, ideally with some public sector experience. 

We are ideally looking to offer the successful candidate the full number of hours advertised above. We may however consider offering less hours than advertised providing they meet the requirements of the role and service which will be determined by the recruiting manager. 

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
