Tree Inspector

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Wirral Council for two full time Tree Inspectors to carry out cyclical safety inspections across the Council's estate throughout the borough of Wirral.

This is a new post and it is a critical role to the safety of the tree population across Wirral. 

The successful post holder will be working closely with the Tree Officers to ensure the Councils tree population is in a safe condition. You will record the trees attributes and making recommendations for remedial and maintenance works. Monitoring for quality assurance purposes the quality of tree works across the council's estate.

You must be vigilant and report any urgent tree related safety matters through to contractors and the appropriate officer. The post holder will contribute to the development of departmental and corporate policies and programmes, including the implementation of specific projects where required.

The post holder must ensure that appropriate systems are in place to comply with appropriate British and European standards and to discharge the Council's obligations.

You would be responsible for public safety during the structural assessment of trees in publicly accessible areas.

We are looking for someone who can lead by example, inspiring confidence and trust, tackling and creating a 'can do' culture. Setting and prioritising realistic goals and objectives ensuring sustained improvement is delivered.

Someone who has a minimum of 3 years programme management experience and must have at least a level 4 qualification in Arboriculture and experience of using Tree Inventory Systems.
