Role: Serious Youth Violence Worker

Salary: £29,621 - £33,859 (inc local weighting)
Hours: 37 hours per week
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Youth Offending Service as the Trust’s Serious Youth Violence Worker. The role is to work with those young people within the local area involved in or on the cusp of gang and/or exploitation behaviour. There is an expectation for the person to hold a case load of mixed complexities all linked to criminal exploitation including young people linked to county lines, carrying/using weapons,
and serious violence. Serious youth Violence is on the increase within Slough and so a lot of the work required is preventative and delivered within schools. The role can be fast paced on the clientele within this remit are considered to be more high risk and challenging so we spend a lot of time out with the young people to ensure their compliance and engagement in positive activities.
The Youth Offending Team (YOT) is a multi agency team whose overall aim s to reduce the risk of offending and reoffending by children and young people. It is aim of Slough YOT to engage young offenders at an early stage, and in context of their families, so the offending behaviour can be tackled before it becomes entrenched. This is done in partnership with appropriate agencies. Slough YOT operates as part of SCST, as an independent not-for profit company.
