More about the role:
In the Place & Communities Directorate, we’re working to make Central Bedfordshire a great place to live and work. With the support of residents, we provide services that people care about and affect their everyday lives: roads, bins, safety, transport, parking, leisure and the environment. As a Project Manager you’ll bring key strategic projects to life and help to make our towns and villages places where communities can thrive.
We want to create an environment which meets the diverse needs of existing and future residents by enabling our communities to be safe and inclusive, well planned, well built, well run, prosperous and offering equality of opportunity and good services to all. Right now, we have all kinds of exciting projects in the pipeline to make sure all this happens. You’ll turn these initiatives from plans into reality.
You’ll be helping to lead change in an innovative, forward-thinking service delivering a diverse range of projects to support our Vision to 2050. To succeed, you must have sound experience in a similar role; an APM or Prince II Practitioner qualification and experience of managing projects across the full project lifecycle, to budget, deadlines and high-quality standards.
You’ll be financially aware and have what it takes to matrix manage project teams. Above all, you’ll have the enthusiasm to deliver a great service. A natural problem solver, you’ll embed a culture of project management and stay calm under pressure.
Central Bedfordshire Council has its own vision and values that are integral to everything we do. Our area vision is to make Central Bedfordshire 'A great place to live and work’.
