People who have already interviewed for this position previously need not apply

An exciting opportunity to work in a frontline customer focussed environment has arisen. We have 2 new positions to fill and we are looking for positive, enthusiastic candidates who are willing to work hard to contribute to the reduction of homelessness. Within the scope of these new roles, you will work with single homeless clients both with and without security of tenure. Using innovative approaches, you will work to relieve their homelessness and maximise their life opportunities.

As Housing Solutions Officers specialising in single homelessness and rough sleeping, you will work proactively and in partnership with customers to resolve their housing need. You will be responsible for assessing customers’ housing requirements and wishes in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act, producing and agreeing a personalised housing plan which you will keep under regular review until a long-term, sustainable housing solution is secured. You will compile detailed S184 decisions and will require good report writing skills.

Your skills will include the ability to work with a variety of people, establish good relationships with customers, colleagues and staff from partner organisations. You will be able to plan your own work and have a creative and ‘can-do’ attitude to problem-solving. You will require a strong level of emotional resilience and the ability to deal with distressing subjects.

You will participate in a call out rota upon completion of a satisfactory training period for which you will be paid.

You will have proven experience of working in a frontline customer focussed organisation, ideally in the public sector housing field or similar environment. You will have an understanding and awareness of housing issues and employ an innovative approach to problem solving.

We are looking for individuals who will embrace the opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking Gold Standard service tackling homelessness. In return we offer you an opportunity to play a role in a team trailblazing creative approaches in the prevention and relief of homelessness.

We operate a flexible working policy and welcome applications in this respect.
