About the Role
The role of the Buildings and Organisation Officer is to support this estate; and prioritise, organise and commission building projects in our Voluntary Aided schools and account for expenditure to the Department for Education. The role holder is also responsible for the practical management of school property and estate held by the diocese and the stewardship of various trust income streams.
You will accompany schools through academisation processes and work with local authorities and multi-academy trusts in dealing with expansion plans, commissioning of new schools and, if necessary, school closures.
It is recognised that the successful candidate is unlikely to have experience in all these fields, so we are looking for transferable skills, initiative and commitment to the role. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in providing the best for the children served and energy for the department’s mission. You will be skilled in financial management and reporting, project commissioning, communication with all stakeholders and be comfortable with responsibility and initiative taking.
