Environment Services Manager

Bassetlaw in North Nottinghamshire is home for 117,000 residents and benefits from excellent road and rail connections. This senior post provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated, forward thinking manager to join a supportive team committed to achieving the Council’s ambition of being a leader in environmental good practice.  Based in Worksop, you will be responsible for leading change across waste, recycling, street cleansing and fleet & transport to provide high quality, value for money services that respond to the varied demands of housing and economic growth, climate change and the forthcoming Environment Bill.

We are looking for an inspirational individual with a progressive, ‘big-picture’ outlook, corporate and political awareness and a proven ability to nurture relationships and engage staff in a meaningful way.  The successful applicant will have strong legislative knowledge, project management skills, experience of managing high value budgets and ensuring high standards of health and safety and performance management across a large multi-disciplinary workforce.
