Stores and Purchasing Apprentice

Fixed Term Contract up to 16 months

Are you ready to start a new career?

Do you want to play an integral role in supporting our delivery of housing services to residents of Newark and Sherwood?

If the answer is yes, then read on for details of our exciting new apprenticeship opportunity working within our busy Stores Team.

We are looking for candidates who are confident using ICT and learning new systems, who enjoy working with numbers and figures and are able to provide a high level of customer service in a busy environment.

The successful candidate will assist with the operation of the Stores in an efficient and accurate manner. You will ensure stock is supplied in the right quantities, that it is of a high quality and that it is provided at the time it is needed all whilst delivering value for money.

You will undertake a wide variety of tasks including (but not limited to):

  • Taking calls from Operatives and suppliers regarding stock
  • Organising stock and receiving deliveries
  • Issuing / delivering stock and maintaining records
  • Ensuring that the Stores area is kept organised and tidy
  • Ensuring that all Health and Safety policies are adhered to.

Alongside this, you will undertake a Level 2 apprenticeship; Supply Chain Warehouse Operative. You will be supported by a tutor who will provide remote sessions to help you learn the relevant theory and legislation and will also assess you as you develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to achieve the apprenticeship.

There will be some requirement to work on site to support your training and also due to the nature of this role. However, there are procedures in place to ensure your safety and wellbeing.

Veterans/family of forces/ex-forces, those in care/care leavers, and candidates who declare a disability (as defined under the Equality Act 2010) will be guaranteed an interview provided they have demonstrated that they meet the essential criteria of the post as detailed in the Person Specification on their application form.

For further information, or an informal discussion, please contact Jaron Hine - Maddock on 01636 655564.

Closing Date: 12 noon on Monday 30 November 2020
