Occupational Therapist (Housing)

Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for an exciting and rewarding opportunity?

Working within our multi-disciplined Housing team, you will be working with vulnerable and disabled adults across West Berkshire, carrying out assessments in our clients' homes, with the objective of helping them to live safely and independently for longer.   This is a fixed term post (interim support) until 31/12/2021.

You will manage a complex caseload of clients referred from across Adult Social Care for proposed home adaptations to be funded through our Disabled Facilities Grant fund. You will have an empathetic and client-centred approach to problem-solving, providing recommendations for both minor and major adaptations in our clients' homes.

You will work collaboratively with internal and external teams, working within the constraints of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996, to explore the most cost effective means to meet our clients' long term needs.

We are ideally looking to offer the successful candidate the full number of hours advertised above. We may however consider offering less hours than advertised providing they meet the requirements of the role and service which will be determined by the recruiting manager.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.

West Berkshire Council offer excellent employment benefits such as flexible working, access to a wide range of relevant training, local government pension scheme, family friendly policies, a range of local discounts and much more. You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement of 28 days per annum rising to a maximum of 33 days.
