Housing Needs Officer (Homelessness) – Ref: (HNO-FTC)
FIXED TERM CONTRACT 12 MONTHS
Broxbourne Borough Council’s Housing Needs Service is recruiting a highly professional and enthusiastic person to join the ambitious and innovative Housing Prevention Team on a fixed term temporary contract for 12 months. The candidate will be required to have previous experience working within a Local Authority homelessness setting and knowledge of the relevant legislation.
The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team interviewing and assessing those who are at a risk of being homeless and working with them to identify housing solutions and prevent homelessness. The role also involves the general management of own caseloads and the ability to work collaboratively with other partner agencies.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated person that has a genuine interest in helping people. Excellent verbal communication skills in fluent English are essential, as this role requires having sensitive conversations and managing customer expectations effectively. Good written and analytical skills are equally important, therefore a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths is fundamental. A full driving license is also required.
