Hawkswood Primary / SEMH provision is looking for class teachers
- Do you want to make a difference where it most counts?
- Do you believe that every child has the potential to succeed with the right help and support?
- Do you believe in the power of educational to change lives?
Hawkswood Primary is an Outstanding Primary Pupil Referral Unit and specialist provision for children Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Our children are awesome and require calm, encouraging and enabling adult support. They are keen to learn, but come to us with specific gaps in learning due to poor attendance, low levels of resilience or addition needs linked to behaviour or social, emotional and mental health needs. Some of our children have an EHCP for additional needs such as ADHD and or ASD.
As a team we work hard to close these gaps to enable children to develop academically, socially and emotionally, so that they can return to mainstream school. We are seeking committed and highly motivated staff to work as part of our team. Our curriculum is engaging, exciting and focuses on the development of the whole child including personal, social, cognitive, creative, health and wellbeing.
Classes are small, with no more than 8 children; every class has its own Learning Support Coach. We have on-site student social workers and two CAMHs therapists who support children and families.
We are keen to appoint class teachers who understand the importance of high quality teaching and learning with a personalised approach to meet individual needs. While not essential, we are especially keen to hear from teachers who have an interest in Music, Art or PSHE.
Please see the JD and person specification. For further information call the Headteacher, Nathalie Fitzgerald on 020 8289 4641 for an informal discussion about the position. Out of school hours and socially distanced visits are welcomed.
Don’t worry if you don’t have special school experience: very few of us did before we came here, the drive and desire to learn is however absolutely essential.
The Hawkswood Group is committed to promoting the safeguarding of children. Please note that this position requires as enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks will be carried out prior to appointment.
