ABOUT THE JOB
Our Families First Service is going through a re-structure to enable the service to closely work with statutory social work teams and to ensure our families receive timely purposeful, planned and focused intervention. In the Families First Service we have developed a new model based broadly on systemic ideas but also on other evidenced based interventions such as Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and Multi Systemic Therapy (MST). It also allows practitioners to develop their own style and practices that fit the families and contexts they are working within. Your role as a Families First Manager would be to closely work with the practice managers in the Families First Service to ensure the model is embedded and families receive timely intervention.
Reporting to the Team Manager, you will work collaboratively with managers in the MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub), Assessment and Intervention Service to ensure families receive appropriate intervention based on their needs and level of risk. You will have modern technology to enable efficient mobile working in addition to human business support.
You will be expected to be an embodiment of the 'Newham Together' practice model, and will work collaboratively with colleagues, partner agencies and other services, sharing our commitment to taking a Restorative approach to achieving positive outcomes for our children and young people.

You are full of energy and enthusiasm, taking a creative but pragmatic approach to supporting your teams to achieve positive outcomes for our children and their families. You already embrace our people focused values and want to be active part of our collective ‘Newham Together’ journey. You want to make a difference. You like to shape services to ensure Families First Practice Managers and Coaches provide good quality intervention to our families.
You have a good track record of delivering successful outcomes for families within a diverse urban community. You have high working standards and are conscious of your own professional development, actively seeking avenues of learning and improvement. The embedding of Systemic practice and a Restorative approach are both key to our journey, and we welcome interest from managers who flourish in, or have training or interest in these methods of practice.
