We are looking for a self-motivated individual, with a progressive approach to join our busy Accountancy Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT qualified accountant, with great prospects for personal development and progression as part of a multidisciplinary finance team.
You must be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and computerised finance systems. It is essential that you can work to regular and conflicting deadlines, demonstrating a high level of attention to detail, and be capable of a high level of sustained concentration to use data accurately.
You must possess excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both as part of a team and unsupervised.
You will contribute to the budget setting process and subsequent budget monitoring and assist in resolving any queries raised by front line budget holders. Alongside this, you will be heavily involved in the Council’s day-to-day treasury management activities as well as contributing to the long-term treasury management strategy.
This role also involves supporting the Principal Accountant and Head of Finance in capital accounting activities. In addition, the Council is developing its asset register and therefore there is the opportunity to contribute to its successful implementation. You will also undertake work for the completion of the Statement of Accounts and Central Government Returns.
