£42,002 - £45,021 per annum inclusive of Outer Fringe Allowance

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated finance professional to provide financial advice and support to specific areas of the organisation. As a fully qualified or part qualified accountant actively studying towards full qualification, you will have a passion for providing high quality financial support to services.
In this pivotal role, you will lead in all aspects of the finance service for the Resources, Environment and Cultural Services area, including the production of budget monitoring reports, closure of accounts as well as budget setting and financial planning. You will also have responsibility for Collection Fund accounting. There will be opportunities to gain experience in other areas of finance to further enhance your career.
In addition to providing support to services, the Business Partners provide support to the Senior Business Partner to improve existing processes and controls, strengthening governance and continually improving the quality of information used to support the Council’s decision making. The council is embarking on a modernisation programme and you will be given the opportunity to be involved in this and a number of other projects including regeneration schemes.
You will have an understanding of local government and the environment in which it operates, and the ability and confidence to work strategically. You will also need to be a dynamic and highly motivated individual who can work effectively with managers at all levels with the confidence to present and provide advice to senior managers and other stakeholders.
