Salary: SO2 £32,418 to £34,209

X1 Permanent, Full Time (36 hours)

We recognise that families play an important role alongside of professionals to enable young people to stay safe and prevent them from offending and risk of harm to themselves and others. This new approach will enable us to provide support to families in an enabling way, providing advocacy, strengthening parenting skills and approaches in a coaching way, practical support, provision of information, advice and guidance whilst helping families to increase their resilience to overcome challenges and barriers that may impact on their ability to parent and keep their children safe.

Furthermore, we are looking to recruit a suitable candidate who is resourceful, creative and excellent at forming positive relationships of trust with young people who are engaged in risky behaviour, including those who have been victims or perpetrators of serious youth violence. The role will be expected to use trauma informed approach within their engagement of young people on a one to one or group work basis, providing young people with additional support, advice, guidance, advocacy, mentoring and positive activities to help young people to make safe and healthy choices that will reduce their risky behaviour and offending. The role will be expected to utilise wider programme of public health approach to serious youth violence and commissioned youth support programmes within their direct work with young people and therefore will need to be a great team and partnership work player.

Our ambition is to see children as children within youth justice services, treat them fairly and help them to build on their strengths so they can rehabilitate and make positive contributions to society. This will prevent offending and create safer communities with fewer victims in Enfield.
