About the role

The Beach House is part of Brighton & Hove City Council’s learning disability provider service. 

It provides respite care and emergency accommodation to adults with learning and physical disabilities. The Beach House currently provides a service to over 50 adults and their families and carers throughout Brighton & Hove, as well as providing emergency care and accommodation for people and families in crisis. The service works closely with social workers and clinical professionals in the city’s Specialist Community Disability Service to achieve the best outcomes for the people it supports.

We are currently seeking a full time manager to lead the operational management of the service. The successful candidate will have good leadership skills, an ability to problem solve and make decisions under pressure and respond to the needs of the people using the service as and when required.

Good communication and people skills are essential as you will be required to work in partnership with other professionals, families, outside agencies and a large staff team.

Previous management experience in a care setting is required as you will be managing a team of 4 deputy managers and you will need knowledge of recent legislation related to providing adult social care.

Good resource and budget management skills are also desirable.

You will also be required to undertake a fit persons interview to become a registered manager with the Care Quality Commission.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
