We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our Sheltered Housing Service.

The Role

Working in a team of sheltered housing assessment officers to deliver first class customer service and comprehensive support and enhanced housing management services to tenants.

You will take frontline and personal responsibility to assess all applicants applying for sheltered housing within Camden, working closely with sheltered housing, registered social landlords and other support services as appropriate. You will present all sheltered assessments to the sheltered panel for consideration and to assist successful applicants in all aspects of the Choice based letting process as necessary.

About you

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with vulnerable older people in a service environment. You will have the ability to liaise effectively with people both internal and external to the council including service users, family/friends and signpost to appropriate support services where required.

You will demonstrate excellent customer service care skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences tactfully ensuring applicant needs are met. You will also have good IT skills, being able to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines.

The desirable candidate will have experience in assessing the needs of older people and a commitment to the promotion of their independent living in the community.

This post will require an Enhanced DBS check.
