We are proud of our community and the spaces we create. The Planning Department was a key instigator in achieving the wonderful Town Centre that we see today.  Our team will continue to help shape future development within the Borough, helping to create a wonderful place to live and work.

You could be part of helping to provide a diverse mixture of development and open green space across the borough maintaining open communication with all our residents during the planning process.

As a member of the Technical Support Team you would have a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Borough as part of the planning function.

Because we’re Bracknell Forest

What it’s like working in our team…

The Technical Support Team is a small and friendly team that works closely with many other service areas throughout the council, along with our Councillors and Parish Councils, enabling us to get comments and contributions from all areas of our communities during the planning process.

Key aspects of this role are an eye for detail and an ability to work to tight deadlines to provide a professional service both internally and externally. As part of the team you will be involved in providing ideas and contributing to on-going enhancement of our service.

We are a positive, interactive team working cohesively to ensure a well organised efficient service is maintained.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training…

As part of the Planning Support Team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including checking and registering planning applications for new development throughout the Borough, issuing planning decision notices, facilitating the planning committee process and the appeals process.

You will also be involved in supporting our Land Charges colleagues and the Parks and Countryside team.

In house training is provided for all tasks and comprehensive written procedures are available.  Bracknell Forest Council also provide additional training opportunities in a wide range of areas to help enhance your skill set.

The benefits you will experience are…

  • Regular opportunities for development with internal and external training courses.
  • An inclusive and social working environment.
  • Flexible working opportunities including a flexi-time scheme.
  • A great office location next to travel links and the regenerated town centre.
  • Internal sports and social club opportunities.
  • Supermarket discount.
  • An interest free loan for a rail season ticket.

What we’re looking for…

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills who is willing to work proactively to maintain and improve the services that we provide.

Experience of MS Packages and use of databases is essential, along with your ability to work within a busy office environment and independently from home when required.

Interviews will be held on

17th March 2021
