Cloughwood Statement

The Governors of this Outstanding Specialist Academy are seeking to recruit three exceptional teachers to join our successful and expanding team from September 2021. This recruitment drive comes at an exciting time for Cloughwood Academy with the roll-out of its strategic development of the next three years expansion. These posts are additional and not to replace outgoing teachers.

The successful candidates will enjoy an enhanced Academy pay offer and specialist allowance as well as the opportunity of a comprehensive annual CPD package and other benefits.

Cloughwood Academy is the founding Academy of Kaleidoscope Learning Trust and it specialises in teaching children who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often with other complexities.

Successful candidates will understand the difference between this and other types of educational provision, know the challenges and demonstrate a desire to, and knowledge of what it takes to work successfully in this field.

Visits to the Academy are strongly recommended.

Primary Teaching Post

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional primary practitioner to our successful and growing primary team.

The successful candidate will have experience of teaching the National Curriculum at Key Stage 2, in Years 4,5 and 6. Knowledge and experience of ‘Thrive’ or Nurture in teaching pupils with special educational needs would be an advantage.

At Cloughwood, our primary teachers are highly effective at providing a rich, enabling curriculum as well as contributing to our pupils’ development of self-care, pro-social, interpersonal and functional skills that enable them to attend well and make the transition successfully into our secondary department.

Although we offer an extensive training package to all of our teaching staff, in addition to being an exceptional classroom teacher, knowledge of attachment disorder, sensory difficulties and autistic spectrum condition would also enhance any application.
