The role

Gravesham Borough Council has a vacancy for a Market Operative.  Working as part of the Gravesend Borough Market team, you will act as an ambassador for the market, supporting traders and customers and overseeing day to day operational aspect of the Market. This is a great opportunity to help us deliver against our strategy to be a town centre destination where local community and tourists want to meet, shop, eat and drink, whilst supporting the overall development of the area and new businesses.

This role requires someone who is capable of working alone across a 7 day rota; is personable, with great customer service skills; practical and able to undertake a range of day to day duties from opening and closing to setting up market stalls and ensuring cleanliness.

Essential qualifications/experience-

  • Full driving licence

Desirable qualifications/experience-

  • Qualified first aider
  • SIA accreditation
