As the Strategy & Planning Manager you will need to have a natural inclination to think strategically and the ability to translate your research and insights into actionable ideas and messages. You will also need to have demonstrable experience of working in a strategic planning role and on organisational change initiatives, in large and ideally customer focused organisations.
As the Strategy & Planning Manager you will have responsibility across the following key areas:
You will shape and influence both the development of the future (2025 onwards) Corporate Strategy and support the operationalising and delivery of the current strategy as set out in the Corporate Delivery Plan, across the Council. You will be responsible for the development, analysis and interpretation of both internal and external Insights that will enable us to make informed planning decisions for the delivery and continued relevance of the strategy to the residents and businesses across Wokingham borough.
In addition, you will lead on the Council’s strategic response to corporate and society issues faced within the borough. This will include undertaking research, drafting the approach, ensuring cross council contribution, stakeholder engagement and leading on the approval process with our Council Executive.
Key Performance Indicators
The role is accountable for the timely and accurate delivery of robust and meaningful Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) pan-group which are used to monitor, track, and report the effectiveness and impact of the Council’s strategies.
Data & Insight Team
The role is accountable for the performance, delivery and development of the Data and Insight team, including line management responsibilities.
The role requires clear leadership all these areas, with experience of providing support and challenge as well as holding stakeholders to account for the strategic deliverables. The role also requires strong operational leadership of time critical and high focus reporting deliverables.
