Team Manager - Licensing

Salary: £43,600 - £47,574

Full Time - permanent post, based at Civic Offices in Epping with strong focus on agile working.

We are looking for an experienced individual to manage our team of Licensing officers, within the Regulatory Service. You will be responsible for managing the day to day administration and compliance of the Councils licensing functions including public hire; and premises and activities falling under the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005 and Animal Welfare Regulations 2018. You will oversee applications for TENs and ensure safety of larger events through SAGs and partnership working.

You will support the Service Manager in driving forward innovative and creative initiatives that reflect the Council’s priorities and values, whilst leading the operational team. You will also work collaboratively across the Council and in partnership with a range of external stakeholders to deliver an effective and efficient service. You will also support wider projects across the organisation, such as the rejuvenation of the high streets and the climate change agenda.

To be successful in this position, you will need to have a direct experience in licensing work and have a strong technical and legal expertise in this area. You will be experienced in writing reports and attending Licensing committees, hearings and court.

You will be a committed manager with strong leadership and performance skills to drive forward the Councils vision and behaviours and to embrace customer focused services incorporating agile and digital working.

A full driving licence is essential, and you will require access to a vehicle for work purposes. As part of the interview process you will be asked to give a short presentation on a pre-prepared task.
