We are looking for a motivated, high performing Infrastructure Security Analyst that wants to make a difference and can provide support to the team through a period of development and change, with an ultimate aim of operating slick and efficient processes, and projects whilst providing the best service to our customers, residents and businesses.

Permanent, Full Time contract
MM1 - £38,946 - £49,818 pa

The Infrastructure Security Analyst will report to the Snr Infrastructure and Environments Manager within Digital Services and is responsible for delivering day to day operational service delivery of specific Council infrastructure security or applications security with or without the guidance and/or supervision of a more senior member of staff.

The Infrastructure Security Analyst role is relentless in identifying threats through systems, data, and market trend analysis and working with a complex set of service teams in implementing defence solutions. authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security.

With exciting times ahead, we are reshaping the Digital Services Team and have created roles, to add value and to provide the best Service to our citizens.

The post offers a fantastic opportunity to manage several competing activities, predominantly security operational and infrastructure, including decisions that could impact the delivery of the service to one or more service within the Council. Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement consistent and automated patch management in concert with systems teams

  • Manage and support Infrastructure security, network and process controls Wintel servers, Azure Cloud Infrastructure, Cisco networks and FortiGate firewalls environment

  • Assist Incident Response Team with SIEM engineering tasks.

  • Evaluate or create new technologies and services to solve complex security issues
