About the role

We’re recruiting four Digital Business Analyst & Project Lead roles within to work across a number of projects. You’ll join a forward thinking and creative team aiming to transform and improve the Council’s online services using modern and innovative Digital technology. In addition to managing some of the core digital platforms across the Council, we have a range of projects being delivered. These range from organisation wide projects such as implementation of a new Council Online Portal and the CRM system that sits behind it, to service specific microsites and online systems. We aim to deliver online solutions that are accessible to all and are the preferred channel of engagement for our residents.

Working within one of project teams, you will carry out a business analysis and project management role within the Digital Transformation programme. The role can vary across projects and has a wide range of activities that you may manage, such as leading and delivering User Acceptance Testing, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to understand their business requirements, managing a specific digital project or supporting work streams in the wider programme. We are recruiting to three posts, further information about each post will be provided below.

About you

Degree-educated or working towards a relevant professional qualification, you’re already digitally savvy. You are familiar with digital platforms such as Content Management Systems or Customer Relationship Management and have a good understanding of how websites and online portals work. You will be familiar with Agile principles and have working knowledge of running projects using Agile. With a focus on user centred design, we are also looking for candidates who are familiar with Local Government Digital or GDS standards. You’ll be a good communicator and have experience engaging both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be comfortable analysing research results and then presenting them to non-technical audiences.

For these roles, we're looking for people with experience of business analysis or service design, with the ability to understand business needs or problems and identify both technical and non-technical solutions. You’ll also have experience in managing digital projects or workstreams and have working knowledge of project administration and governance.

Web Experience Role x 1

The Digital Business Analyst & Project Lead recruited to the Web Experience role will work in a number of projects aimed at enhancing Newham’s Digital Web Presence. The primary focus of the role will be to lead on digital projects, whilst an ability to understand business requirements and shape service design will be key. The projects focus on improving the user experience for those engaging with us through digital channels. The role will involve working with stakeholders across the organisation to understand their needs within specific projects and then driving the projects from inception to delivery. Some of the projects currently planned include delivery of an online engagement and consultations platform, development of online directory platforms, migrating stand-alone microsites into our corporate web platform (Jadu CMS) and digitising online applications processes.

Contact Tracing/Digital Projects Role x 1

Provide project coordination and business analysis support to our Covid Integrated Response Team.  The Response Team provide direct support to residents such as contact and welfare phone calls, hotel isolation, surge testing and more.  These processes are supported by a set of tactical business applications with integrated data and business processes ensuring the team have a complete and consistent view of Covid cases and activities in Newham.  The Business Analyst will work with the response team managers and staff, and IT colleagues to ensure the applications, process and data meet the needs of our response.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) Role x 2

The focus of the role will be to support the Lead CRM Business Analyst with implementation activities – especially User Acceptance Testing and Training. Ideally you will have, knowledge of Azure Dev Ops. The Individual will be expected to develop test scripts, train end-users in preparedness of UAT, support the users during UAT, assess the severity of defects, their impact on the business, which defects must be resolved before go-live and what can be done to mitigate the risks of the defects that cannot be resolved. They will also be expected to produce User/Training guides as well as deliver training to end users.
