Social Worker - Family Safeguarding

Are you a creative Social Worker who takes a strengths-based approach to supporting the safeguarding of children within their family?

Who we are:

West Berkshire is excited to be in its fourth year of the Family Safeguarding Model.  We have adult substance misuse, domestic abuse and mental health practitioners sitting within the team alongside the Social Workers providing a joined-up approach.  We have a strong emphasis on relationship-based practice and a restorative, learning culture, and aim to work with families, in a way which recognises and builds on their strengths and keeps families together.

This is because we recognise that working in a frontline team is demanding and to be effective, teams need manageable caseloads, good supervision and a real break. You will receive regular monthly personal supervision as well as being part of a multi-disciplinary team holding monthly Group Case Supervision. 

At the conclusion of three years in post you will receive an additional £15 000, and 8 weeks leave.  You can add your existing leave to take up to three months off for your sabbatical.

Your experience:

You will have completed your ASYE and will be a skilled, and reflective social worker.  You will have a strong understanding of the application of SW theory, methods, and interventions, and evidence-based assessment skills. You will have ethical qualities and influence to support and inspire anti-oppressive and creative practice. 

It is essential that you hold a current SW England registration and a full driving licence with use of a car.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
