Strategic Lead - Population Health

Working alongside partners, Active Norfolk supports the county to be a place where being physically active is a normal part of everyday life for all. Where opportunities are designed around individuals and where community needs are promoted so effectively that everyone knows about them, and why they should be involved.

Supporting the implementation of an innovative new strategy, this exciting new role will lead on the organisation’s efforts to improve health and well-being outcomes for the people of Norfolk, working closely with key stakeholders in health, local government and across the VCSE sector.

You will seek to influence policy and practise across the system, integrating and embedding physical activity as a vehicle to deliver improved health outcomes for residents, with an emphasis on physical health and mental well-being, as well as COVID19 recovery and resilience.

You will be responsible for the successful implementation of several key outputs, including a range of contracts and collaborative projects. Acting as a source of professional advice, information and guidance, you will help build strong and effective networks between Active Norfolk and the wider health system.

With significant experience at a senior level in a similar role, you will evidence successfully working with a range of senior strategic stakeholders. You will have detailed knowledge of local government as well as the health and social care landscape and will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of national and local sport, health, and local government policy and strategy. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will inspire others and will enable you to build successful relationships with stakeholders and partners.

In return we think we have lots to offer. There’s the role itself with the opportunity to truly make your own, and the working environment at Norfolk County Council where we put work life balance at the forefront; offering flexible, smarter working arrangements, all underpinned by leading edge technology.

We might be biased, but we think it’s a great role in a great place. If you think you have what it takes, we would love to hear from you.

All our office-based roles are currently working from home as part of our Smarter Working plans and to support the health and safety of all our colleagues. We anticipate that working remotely will be a key feature of this role and when offices re-open your office base will be Easton College.
